Oak honey is a deep, rich, dark honey with powerful and distinctive aroma and a slight treacle aftertaste.

Raw Oak honey is a honeydew honey. Oak honey is a rich tasting tree honey with a deep earthy taste. Its colour is almost black; and is very rich in antioxidant properties. It has very high nutritional value and variety of minerals including iron, potassium and magnesium and is ideal for combating anemia, dysentery and chronic diarrhoea.

Oak honey is not overly sweet and has a very distinctive aroma. Although Greece is very rich in Oak forests, Oak honey is considered a rare variety of honey. The oak tree is a large deciduous tree which is part of the beech family. Bees love to feed on the sap that comes from the tree’s acorns. The bees collect a sweet nectar that the acorns weep in July and August and create a unique type of honey. It tends to be less sweet but is quite potent.

Oak Tree honey is less likely to set due to a relatively low glucose content and is ideal for people who do not like a very sweet tasting honey.

    I tried the oak honey and I have to say, I am blown away by the quality!Probably the best honey I found in Ireland so far. The honey is rich, flavorful, and incredibly smooth. Delivery was also very fast (ordered Friday and received on Monday).
